The Brunel Festival 2006 culminated in the
most spectacular fireworks seen on the Haven in years.
This was the culmination of 10 months of
hard work by a dedicated team of volunteers, when over a three day period, history, business and tourism
linked to families made Neyland, Pembrokeshire the hub of activities.
The event commenced with an excellent
exhibition prepared by Simon Hancock of Brunel’s involvement with Neyland.
It was also pleasing to see two visitors who
had made the trip especially from Japan.
The following day, a Business Showcase,
involving PLANED/and PBI, highlighted many businesses active in the area.
The final day was a very busy twelve hours
of family activities, ranging from river boat trips, yacht skills training to onshore events involving
participation by locals and visitors alike.
A pig roast started the evening’s
proceedings, which climaxed with a Fireworks Extravaganza and as a memory for the thousands present or
those unfortunate to miss them a photo album can be viewed by clicking on the any of the photos
